Adventures in Dermarolling
HAVING HAD MODERATE ACNE ON BOTH MY FACE AND BACK AND BEING A SKIN-PICKER, I’VE GOT SOME ACNE SCARRING.
In the last year, I’ve started developing ice pick scars, particularly on my chin. I hate them. Because they’re so deep, they’re incredibly difficult to cover. I swear they almost look worse when I try to cover them.
I’ve had enough. I’ve done quite a bit of internet research about the options available to me. There are some quite costly procedures you can have done by a dermatologist to help with acne scarring, which honestly don’t really appeal to me at this stage.
I decided to try dermarolling. Dermarolling is the process of rolling a dermaroller across your face. The idea is that by creating micro-abrasions, you’re stimulating skin rejuvenation. Twice a week, for the last month, I’ve been dermarolling before bed. Immediately after dermarolling I’ve been applying the Sukin Recovery Serum followed by my everyday moisturizer.
So far, a month in, I’m super pleased with the results. My ice pick scars are already visibly smaller and less deep. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not completely gone, but there’s definitely loads of improvement!
Not only has it helped with my ice pick scars, but it’s also helped with both pore size and overall complexion. Let me tell you, the morning after dermarolling: I. Am. Fucking. Glowing.
I bought my dermaroller on Amazon.
