The 3 Skincare Products I Can’t Live Without

Ok guys, I’m going to be honest here… There are only three skincare products I really can’t live without. Everything else I use I’m not obsessed with. I’ve yet to find a body wash, exfoliant, mask, or daytime moisturiser (to name a few)  that I’m hooked on. It takes a lot for me to become addicted to a product, but once I am, I’m fiercely loyal to whatever I’m using.

That being said, as someone with tricky skin (I have psoriasis and had acne throughout my teens and early 20s and am still prone to breakouts), I sometimes have to stop using a product when my skin gets used to it. I don’t know why that is, but sometimes, after I’ve used a product for years and years it just stops working for me.

All the products I’m recommending I swear by. Typically, I have combination skin, airing on the dryer side. These products work wonders for my skin and it’s the best it’s been since before that whole puberty thing started.

If you know me well, you know that I’m a *bit* obsessed with showering / washing my face / brushing my teeth. I’ve been told by multiple dermatologists to wash my face (and shower my body, for that matter) less than I do. Despite this advice, I struggle to cut down. I can’t fall asleep if I haven’t showered but I also hate starting my day without showering. I definitely wash my face more than I need to. These products have all been great, because despite my over-washing, they make sure I don’t dry out or have any of the other symptoms cause by my OTT face-washing.

1. Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash

I live for this face wash. If you don’t know about Origins, they’re a fantastic brand. They’re cruelty free and focus on using ethically sourced natural ingredients. As I previously mentioned, I wash my face a lot. Like, a lot, a lot. The Origins Checks and Balances face-wash doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry and tight.

2. LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask

I first bought this moisturiser when I was back in Canada a few winters ago and my skin was particularly dry. None of my normal products were working, so I nipped into Sephora in a panic and looked for something super hydrating. I left with a LANEIGE “beauty set” with three of their most hydrating products. The one that really did it for me was the Water Sleeping Mask.

LANEIGE’s Water Sleeping Mask is super hydrating, but incredibly light. You don’t feel goopy, greasy or weighed down from it. It also smells fresh, but not over-perfumed. My skin was noticeably less dry within a day. I use this every night before bed and sometimes use it as my day-time moisturiser. I love it and everyone I know who’s tried it loves it too.

3. Kielh’s Grapefruit Body Wash

Ok so, this one isn’t for facial skincare, but is absolutely crucial to my skincare routine. If you suffer from psoriasis, you know how hard it can be to find a body wash that doesn’t cause a flare up. Kielh’s grapefruit body wash works wonders for my skin. It also smells incredible and like the other products on this list, isn’t SO strong smelling that it’s overpowering.

Remember, whenever you do decide to try new products, it’s vital that you patch test! Especially if you suffer from eczema, psoriasis or any other skin conditions.
