Restaurant Review: Bill’s New Dinner Menu 2019
We’ve always loved Bill’s. They were so kind and accommodating when we had our giant foster dog last summer! They’d bring her water & treats and they always made sure we had somewhere to sit with adequate room for her big fluffy body. I also love Bill’s because there are some healthy but delicious options on the menu. It’s always hard to eat healthily when eating out, but Bill’s makes it super easy! With gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options, there’s definitely something for everyone.
In the last few months, Bill’s has revamped their menu to focus a bit more on dinner! We’ve had some fabulous meals there. The interior is lovely as well. We were most recently gifted a delicious three course meal, with some of the beeeest starters I’ve ever had (honestly!).
Starters & Cocktails
For our starters, we both chose something we wouldn’t normally choose. Rob opted for the devilled chicken skewers with tzatziki and lime while I had the chicken and sesame dumplings with Bill’s spicy chutney. I’m so glad we veered away from our standard choices, because these were sooo good.
We also had a few cheeky cocktails! I had the Bill’s Collins (Wyborowa vodka, rhubarb liqueur, lime, grapefruit bitters, pink lemonade) & Rob had the Apple & Elderflower Collins (Somerset apple brandy, elderflower, cloudy apple juice, lemon, soda). I won’t lie, I definitely preferred mine (and I think Rob did too). We tried the Menabrea beer too! I’m not a huge beer drinker, but I really enjoyed that one and could definitely throw a few back. Rob liked the beer too, so it’s not just a beer for non-beer drinkers, if that makes sense.
For our mains, I had the glow bowl (always tryna get that glow, amirite?) and Rob had the beer battered cod. The glow bowl had pea falafel, mixed grains, chickpeas, hummus, roasted butternut squash, long stem broccoli, pickled red cabbage, red pepper tapenade, spinach, miso dressing and grilled flatbread. The miso dressing was fantastic, I wish they sold it separately for me to bring home!
To end the meal, I had the lemon meringue pie in a glass and Rob had the apple and salted caramel crumble. Both were delicious and really beautifully presented. I was pretty stuffed by this point so struggled to finish the desserts, but Rob stepped up and finished both #nowaste.
I would definitely recommend trying Bill’s dinner menu. It was fantastic & the atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely!
