New Year’s Resolutions 2019
I love New Year’s resolutions. I love the idea of a clean slate / fresh start. Why not be optimistic that this year will be different? On that note… to anyone who says ‘waiting for New Year’s resolutions to make a change is ridiculous, just make a change now’, I say ‘get over yourself, you grumpasaurus’.
In addition to the resolutions I’m making, Rob & I always make some joint resolutions (like eat out less frequently, be more on top of laundry, and so on), but I’m not going to get into those here. So, without further ado, here are my 5 resolutions for 2019!
Drink more water
I swear drinking enough water is the answer to most of my body’s ailments! I only ever get headaches when I’m dehydrated and my hydration levels massively affect my skin.
Get serious about my gut health
Gut health is something I’ve been talking about for the last year, but it’s time I take it seriously. My parents got us kits to get our gut health tested. I promise to keep you all posted on the outcome and am looking forward to seeing the positive changes it will help instill on my body.
Go to the gym 100 times
I miss being in better physical shape than I’m currently in and I feel like this goal is more realistic than some of the resolutions if set in the past. I’m looking forward to sticking to my goal of working out ~roughly~ twice a week. I’m also hoping that once I get back into the swing of it I’ll be motivated to go even more frequently!
Eat fewer processed foods
In an effort to be more aware of what’s going into my body, I’m going to try to eat fewer processed foods and ready-meals. To be honest, I don’t eat loads of ready-meals, but I do occasionally go for these for lunch. I want to make lunch a healthier part of my day!
Listen to my body
I need to learn to listen to my body. If I’m feeling worn down, I need to take time to rest up and recuperate. Hopefully all my other resolutions will help lead to improvements in this area.
Overall, I’m just aiming to have the health and fitness levels of Chris Traeger.
